THERAPY & COUNSELING

Child Counseling

For many people having a trusted person to talk with on a regular basis can make a significant difference as they navigate daily challenges and stresses.

Therapy can provide a safe, empathetic and accepting place for parents and children to find the support and guidance they may need.

What to expect at our office:  In most cases the first appointment will be a parents-only Zoom visit with the therapist. This provides an opportunity for the parent to share all of the areas of concern and background with the therapist so they can have a better understanding of your childs needs.  After the first visit, appointments will be for the child in the office (or Zoom if necessary).

Parent/Guardian must always stay on premise for the duration of all visits.  Parent may be asked to speak with the therapist for a few minutes at the beginning or end of each visit.  Generally the therapist will want to meet with your child weekly for a short time (6-8 weeks) and then visits may reduce to every-other week or monthly, depending on progress. We recommend that the parent discuss any scheduling or financial limitations with the therapist so they can help tailor a plan that will meet your childs needs and also work well for your family.

Parent participation,  cooperation and consistency is essential to making progress with your child.
